“It’s the small things that make a big difference”

Leaving a gift in your will

Every year ordinary supporters of St. Clare’s Hospice help us to give Extraordinary care to adults of all ages, from every part of our community by leaving us a gift in their Will.

The smallest of gestures often make the biggest difference to people’s lives.  Even the smallest of gifts in your Will can ensure that we can make a big difference to our patients, helping them to make the most of the time they have with their loved ones.

Writing a Will ensures your loved ones are taken care of and that your wishes in life are carried out after you’ve gone. So when the time is right for you to make your Will, please remember St. Clare’s Hospice, ensuring that we can extend our services and care for future generations.

How to leave your gift to St. Clare’s Hospice

People choose to remember us in their Will in several different ways:

• A Residual Gift –Is what is left of your estate after any specific legacies have been made. You can give all or a portion of this as a gift. This is often the most beneficial type of gift as it tends to “hold its value”.

• A Specific Gift – An item, such as jewellery, an antique or even a property.

• A Pecuniary Gift – A set amount of money.

“Ordinary supporters make an extraordinary difference”

If you have not already seen a solicitor you should make an appointment to discuss your wishes. After you have provided for your loved ones it is easy to leave your gift to St. Clare’s and it would be free of Inheritance Tax.

Changing a will

If you’ve already made a Will you can add a gift to St. Clare’s by drawing up a codicil (simple addition to your will) then simply send it to your solicitor who should not charge you for adding it to your existing Will.

If you decide that you would like to support St. Clare’s Hospice in this way please do let us know. You may wish to use our legacy pledge form. That way we can thank you directly. It also helps us to plan for the future.
